Claire Wells United States, 19, Senior

Claire Wells, a passionate musician since the age of three, was raised in California in a musical family. She now studies with Lutsia Ibragimova at the Yehudi Menuhin School. 1st Prize winner at the Lynn Harrell Competition, Claire has appeared as soloist with the Dallas Symphony, Nancy Lyric Symphony, Webern Kammerphilharmonie, Fort Worth Symphony and the Belgrade Philharmonic orchestras, among others. Festival appearances include Aspen Music Festival and the Holland Music Sessions. Claire has received masterclasses from pedagogues including Ana Chumachenco, Boris Kuschnir and Mihaela Martin. She enjoys being a multifaceted musician, performing with Moroccan band AZA and with Aleksey Igudesman as a duo partner.
